Dallas Furniture Bank’s 5th Anniversary at the Beat
Dallas, Texas (March 10, 2009) – Dallas Furniture Bank and The Beat Condominiums at South Side Station Present: “How Sweet It Is: Battle of the Bakers” on March 24, 2009 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. Join Dallas Furniture Bank co-chairs Andrew Lin of Carlson Capital, L.P. and Megan Inman of URS Corporation on The Beat’s second floor patio overlooking Dallas’ grand skyline.
Feast on tempting treats from Dallas’ top bakers while enjoying complimentary champagne and wine, entertainment and tours of The Beat property. Tickets will be sold for $40 and $75 with sponsorship packages starting at $1,250, all proceeds will go towards the Dallas Furniture Bank. Battle of the Bakers will highlight the sense of SMELL, featuring the top Dallas bakers competing for the People’s Choice award. The celebrity judge panel will include, Bronwen Weber of Frosted Art Bakery and Food Network Challenge judge; Mr. Dallas, nightlife Guru and columnist for The Dallas Morning News; Dunia Borga of La Duni Restaurants; and Oscar Joyner, president of Reach Media Inc.
Local Dallas Bakers entered to compete are, Screen Door, Empire Baking Company, CucaLu Cruffles & Cakes, Wackym’s Kitchen, The Tower Club, Il Cane Rosso, Silver Spoon Cuisine, and Meringue Bakery. During Battle of the Bakers Dallas Furniture Bank will honor their “40 Under 40,” a group of 40 individuals from a diverse background who will be recognized for their civic efforts benefitting families in D-FW.
