Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson Presents Youth Crime Prevention Summit
CONGRESSWOMAN JOHNSON TO PRESENT YOUTH CRIME PREVENTION SUMMIT
On Saturday, June 9th, Congresswoman Johnson will be presenting a Youth Crime Prevention Summit in Dallas, Texas. This event will consist of two panels that will explore the challenges that young people face and discuss programs that offer positive alternatives and constructive guidance for our youth.
"Each year during the summer months we see an increase in crime committed by our nation's youth," said Congresswoman Johnson. "The Youth Crime Prevention Summit will provide young people and their parents with an excellent opportunity to create a path that will lead to a positive, productive summer."
Participants of the Youth Crime Prevention Summit include: Dallas District Attorney Craig Watkins; Ruth Thomas, CEO of Girls, Inc. Dallas; Sheriff Lupe Valdez; Omar Jahwar, Founder of Vision Regeneration; the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Dallas; the Dallas Police Department; and many more.
"This summit will afford us the opportunity to examine the daily challenges young people face, and what we can do to ensure that all of our children choose a positive path," said Congresswoman Johnson.
The Youth Crime Prevention Summit will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2007 from 9:00a.m. – Noon. The event will take place at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library Auditorium located at 1515 Young Street, Dallas, Texas 75201.
