Martin Luther King
Dr. King was so much more than the “dreamer” he is now defined as.
However the eloquence and brilliance of this 1963 speech cannot be underscored. Dr. King was 34 years old on this summer day in Washington, D.C.
As his contemporaries and those who followed continue to point towards his his work, they should not only reflect his legacy but build on it. Now in their 60’s and 70’s, they should have a certain degree of wisdom to lean on that Dr. King’s 39 years did not allow him to garner. Instead of stunting and quieting today’s 30 and 40 somethings, they should mentor and uplift those who are working towards Dr. King’s aims (even if it’s not how they would do it).
God Bless the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
