Happy Christmas from Dallas South
I started saying “Happy Christmas” as my holiday greeting about 8 years ago. Besides the strange looks I get, now people start correcting me because they think I’ve gotten Merry Christmas and Happy New Year’ confused.
But one thing not to be confused is why we celebrate this time of year. We celebrate the birth of Jesus the Christ, our Redeemer. The joy that we share today is in remembrance of his birth.
But my odd yuletide greeting is confirmed by the memorable poem written by Clement Clarke Moore. The narrator watches as St. Nick leaves in his sleigh and exclaims “Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”
May God Bless you and yours.
