American High School Idol: Fox Show big on young talent
Well it’s that time of year again when America gathers in front of their television sets to see just how badly people want to get on television. It’s American Idol audition time, which means viewers get a heavy dose of bad singing for the first few weeks.
That’s to be expected, but what surprised me was the number of 16 year olds who made it on camera and that were put through to Hollywood. I’ve never been a fan of the under 18 AI contestant and I actually had to let my wife have it after 16 year old Stevie (best singer I’d seen) was passed on. It’s probably a good thing for the 15 year old viewer, not so much for 35.
My guess is that anyone in the United States that is 22-24 years old with any real singing talent has probably already tried out for Idol at some point. Therefore all that’s left are the younglings.
The new judge….I’m going to hold off on that one, although at this rate I may have to give an incomplete because I might vote myself out.
