Real Men Cook/Black Images host Eddie Levert at African-American Museum
Eddie Levert greeted fans and signed copies of his book I Got Your Back on Tuesday night at the African-American Museum in Dallas. The event was a joint effort between Real Men Cook of Dallas and Black Images Books.
I Got Your Back is Eddie and Gerald Levert's final collaboration, finished the day before Gerald passed away suddenly on November 10, 2006 at the age of 40. In the book, which was also written with Lyah Beth Leflore, The Leverts candidly discuss their failures, concerns, fears, and triumphs as father and son.
In conjunction with the book signing, the event was used as a chance to recognize the cooks and volunteers who participated in Real Men Cook 2007. Terry Allen, producer of the Dallas event, thanked the 46 men who cooked this year, and set a goal of over 100 men cooking at RMC next Father's Day. Mr. Allen announced that Chef Jeff Henderson will again serve as celebrity chef next year. He also encouraged everyone to buy multiple copies of I Got Your Back and to keep the book on the best seller list.
