Michael (Harold Perrineau) returns to ABC’s Lost

Lost has been even more unpredictable than usual this season, but Thursday’s episode provided a twist that I didn’t expect. Even with last week’s promise of a familiar face, I didn’t think that face would belong to Michael, played by Harold Perrineau).

It’s funny because my mom who doesn’t usually watch the show had just asked me “are there any black people lost?”  I had mentioned Rose and that everybody else was killed or “off the island.”

Then Perrineau appeared as “Kevin Johnson” a deckhand on the mysterious freighter that has been docked off the island all season. Both Sayid and Desmond recognized Kevin as Michael, though they didn’t let on that they knew him.

Is Michael Ben’s man on the boat? Did Michael open the door to the medical room last week and pass the note to Sayid and Desmond that said “Don’t Trust The Captain?”  I guess we’ll see next week.

And I know there’s controversy around it, but for my money all of the Oceanic 6 have now been revealed: Kate, Jack, Hurley, Sun, Sayid, and Aaron.
