Friendship-West to host All Male Worship on May 14

The words in the theme song of a popular 1980’s sitcom go something like this: Sometimes you want to go, where everybody knows your name.  And their always glad you came. Men on this particular show would fulfill this urge by gathering at a local bar.  But the men of Friendship-West Baptist Church have the ability to accomplish this by way of fellowship in our Men’s Community – Operation BLACC.

Ready to Grill.jpg Operation BLACC was organized and founded in the summer of 1991 as a result of a God-given vision received by Dr. Frederick D. Haynes III.  Operation BLACC is an acronym which stands for Brothers Loving and Leading the African-American Church and Community.

God placed on Pastor Haynes’ heart the burden, as well as the critical need, to address the tremendous void left in our homes, churches and communities due to the absence of holy and mature leadership from the African American male.  As a means of addressing that need, Operation BLACC was formed.

All Male Worship

front_image.jpg The time is upon us once again, when the men of the community gather at Friendship-West for an All-Male Worship service.  On Monday May 14 at 6:30 p.m., Pastor Haynes will lead the men in a time of praise and worship which will be held in the main sanctuary.  The Men of Judah from the Praise Dance Community will bless us on that night, as well as the J.C. Holmes Male Chorus.

If we as the African-American community are going to be all that God has intended for us, then our men must be restored to their rightful position.  We are all aware of the bleak future that is predicted for black men and boys, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

On May 14, we have the opportunity to fill the sanctuary at Friendship-West with men who love Jesus and are unashamed to call upon his Holy Name.  From the youngest to the oldest I urge all males to be present on this day, you and your family will be blessed by your decision.

And I invite all men to fellowship with us on Monday nights @ 6:30 p.m.  The song says – You wanna be where you can see, our troubles are all the same. You wanna be where everybody knows your name. If you can relate, stop by Operation BLACC.
