According to CNN.com, Barack Obama has decided to accept the Democratic Nomination for President at Denver’s Invesco Field at Mile High. Invesco Field is the 75,000-seat stadium that is home to the Denver Broncos. The rest of the convention will be held at the 20,000-seat Pepsi Center which houses the Denver Nuggets.

open-convention1.jpg“Barack Obama’s campaign for change has inspired millions of Americans and brought people into the political process who might never have been involved,” said Convention Co-Chair Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius in the CNN article. “This change in the Convention program will allow thousands of first-time participants a chance to take part.”

This is a bold move by Obama, but very consistent with what we’ve seen in the campaign so far. Many of those going to be in Denver were worried about missing the historic acceptance speech due to space limitations. Those concerns should now be allayed.
