AKA Image Award Luncheon, Hill Harper speaks of Law School with Obama and campaign

It took me a while to get to it, but you know I can’t forget about my sorors and the 23rd Image Awards Luncheon hosted by the Omicron Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha. At the luncheon held at the Dallas Infomart on February 28th, I was a guest of Mrs. Pat Webb served as Mistress of Ceremonies.   Pat took care of me as always. I literally had a front row seat for the excellent event hosted by the lovely ladies of AKA.

Omicron Mu Omega honored Phillip Lyles, Executive Director of the I Have a Dream Foundation, with this year’s Image Award. Actor, and fellow Alpha, Hill Harper was an extremely engaging keynote speaker. He used his wireless microphone walking (sometimes jogging) through the audience, even asking questions of guests during his talk.

Harper on Law School With President Barack Obama

Harper spoke of his days at Harvard with President Barack Obama, about a frustrating appearance on celebrity Jeopardy, and what African-Americans must do to help stem some of the ills that plague our community.

Proceeds from the event benefited the Omicron Mu Omega Foundation.
